I'm fairly certain that at one time eMusic owned the Stax label (back in 1998/99). It looks like they sold it to Concord. Don't know really.. Lots of mergers/acquisitions in early 2000. Dimensional Associates may own some Stax music, too. Not sure, really.

Excellent. I'll be in Phila. around that time. I love the Mann Music Center... many good memories of shows and parties on the side of the hill.

This event is probably affiliated or part of the NAB Show - http://www.nabshow.com ... I would have gone to this show if I didn't drop a contract gig earlier this month. I could have crashed the show! Bummer.

Great article... Music and lyrics today might not express a "movement," but I think the Internet has certainly been a platform for people to express their thoughts and feelings. In 1998, I thought I was changing the world when I "legally" [sic] published 60,000 mp3 music tracks f...

It sounds OK to me... just like FM radio. What do expect from a non-profit broadcast service.

It looks like Ticketmaster changed the dates on the "non VIP Visa" tickets. The SF show tickets go on sale Monday (April 2) rather than April 7. Check Ticketmaster for possible changes for your city.

[quote="DrSpooky"]Well we are back. It was an interesting week filled with multiple trips to the Apotheke to buy remedies for traveler's distress. :( Just curious, what kind of "distress" did you experience in Munich? What did you eat - mixed meat products? Did you eat anything t...

Doesn't it really come down to product placement on the shelves? One label may promise more placement than another? Don't know much about the business, but I don't have a problem with the reissues. Again, I think the reissues are targeting the young kids who buy the most in this sector (music,entert...

It seems like these reissues are for the younger kids... you know to introduce them to E.C. I know my niece is buying like a mad woman right now - vinyl, CDs, digital... She's exploring music and thank god for that! I'm sure there are loads of kids her age doing the same thing. That equals cashish f...

Adam2 - Sorry to hear about the trouble you went through with the Visa card. Visa should have a link from the Ticketmaster form that allows you fill out an application for a Visa Sig. card. It should also trigger the purchase of the concert tickets once you are approved for the Visa card. I don't se...

Wait, I won't be able to see E.C. & the Imposters unless I have a Visa Signature card? Bogus. It looks like tickets for the SF show go on sale to the "general" public on 4/7. If this is strictly a closed show for Visa Sig. holders, then Visa - Read between the lines of my index and rin...

Oh yeah, the indie hipsters are just getting by under the radar, in the underground.. If you have an oil painting of a veggie taco worth 1.25 (cents that this) then, you'll find a buyer in the indie underground world. Good luck, chumpie boy

Have you passed the summit? The pass won't be shut down in May. The Sierras have 1/2 the base they had last year.. It's cold and dry this year. So, I presume, the month of May will not be so "Donner" style... If I make the trek, I'm bring running shoes, a mtn bike, AND skis - and select on...
